Out of Order II

I just figured out the "Team" blog stuff for use on later collaborative projects, and now I want to make that look good as well. Whee! Another journal template to design! Yeah... woo. (#)

You're out of order

The homepage template I started working on last night made my IE4/98 freeze and cry. I decided to stop worrying about it for the moment (since removing the CSS made it work anyway); by even bringing it up on a different browser, I was taking things out of turn. It's a difficult impulse to overcome... the troubleshooting impulse... Validate. Validate first. It'll have to wait until I'm done tweaking it into something that looks final.

Note to self: when template editing is possible again, try replacing the <hr> with a bit of style. (#)

Progress!

1) think about what the site is.
2) draw some organizational sketches.

I knew something good would come out of working on a holiday. It may be another night or two before I can figure out how it works, but I came up with something that I think would look cool if I can make it work, and I'd like to try to make it work.

I have an idea involving a basic grid-looking design for use in a portfolio of sorts (which I don't have yet... either the portfolio or the sites to put in it). I don't know that the grid I want can be done in pure CSS, but I'm curious to find out. (#)

A post disappears.

Well. I've heard of it happening to others, but it's a first here.
I did some CSS work. I'm happy with it so far. That is all. (#)

Useless information at your fingertips

Upon further examination of the information on the Do Something Winamp plugin, this has given me an idea.
I added a google search on the song title, in case you're looking for information about it (Google doesn't index mp3s, so you probably won't be able to download them).
What about AMG, though? How difficult would it be (after seeing some of the tricks my workplace has pulled) to make this plugin query AMG with the artist name? I may want to check this out more carefully when I get home, just for a little fun. (#)

10:24 AM:
I believe I have, at least, a better (more discerning?) eye for aesthetics than I used to, as I looked at my (unpublished) working home page design last week and said, "...no, that's not right."

I believe my original assessment (that I don't have enough material for a resume/homepage yet) was correct; I'll probably just build the dang thing anyway so that I'll have a template, once I start building other projects. (#)
